Storage device settings:
- Type: Location controlled
- Manufacturer: Signifi Toolbox
- COM port number and Cabinet ID must be specified according physical connection to device. Cabinet ID defines address of cabinet in case of multiple cabinets connected to the same COM port. In case of single cabinet, it will be 1.
Module and location structure
- No setup of modules and locations is needed from Admin Portal. Modules and locations are created via SFI (described further in this article).
- One module corresponds to one drawer.
- One location created for each lockable position a drawer.

Configure new cabinet
To setup new cabinet, create new storage device on Admin Portal. Ensure, that Signifi controller is connected to PC where SFI is installed and is accessible on COM port specified on the storage device.
Once storage device is created, release and sync it to SFI. On SFI, navigate to Stock management -> Manage Signifi locations.
If there are more cabinets of this type, select cabinet to configure.
Option to manage Signifi locations is visible only for users with SFI privilege to Setup locations List of locations will be empty for newly created devices. Press Rescan configuration to obtain configuration from the cabinet.
Once configuration is obtained, list of all modules and number of locations in each module is shown. To create this structure, press Update modules. Confirm the change to proceed.
Once confirmed, cabinet is configured and ready to be used. Size (width, depth and height) of locations is determined from the cabinet and will be visible during item assignment flow.
Update cabinet configuration
It is possible to update configuration of Signifi cabinet in cases, when drawers are replaced with another type or cabinet extended. Updating the configuration will not affect any modules and locations, which remain unchanged – item assignments and physical quantities in those locations will remain intact.
When replacing drawer with different drawer of the same configuration (like in case of hardware failure), it is not needed to update configuration of the cabinet
To update configuration, proceed to Manage Signifi locations as described during setup of a new cabinet. In list of current configuration, press Rescan configuration option.
If there is any difference between configuration currently available on SFI and configuration returned by cabinet, the configuration from the cabinet is shown with option to Update modules on SFI. Press the option and confirm the update to reflect any differences on SFI.
If module or location is not available anymore after the update, all items assigned in these locations are removed. Withdraw transaction is generated for any physical quantity in those locations
For modules and locations where no update is needed, assigned items remains unchanged. Custom names of modules or locations remains unchanged after the update.
