What you can do
Build your own Admin Portal dashboard: add the widgets you need, arrange and resize them, remove the ones you don’t, and pin any report as a custom widget.

Before you start
- The dashboard setup is always saved per user, so each user defines their own dashboard. Your changes affect nobody else.
- To use the News feed widget, a feed source must be set in System settings. See System settings reference.
- To pin a report, you need a report you can open in the report viewer. See How to run, filter, and schedule a pre-defined report.
Note: If the browser window width is too small to show the entire dashboard, all widgets are collapsed to only one column. In this state, rearranging widgets is not allowed.
Quick start
Experienced users reshape a dashboard in 5 steps:
- Click Customize to enter edit mode.
- Select a widget from the dropdown and add it.
- Drag widget headers to rearrange, drag edges to resize.
- Click the cross in a widget header to remove it.
- Click Save to keep the changes, or Cancel to discard them.

Steps
Step 1 – Enter edit mode
Click Customize in the dashboard header. The toolbar changes to Save and Cancel, a widget picker appears on the right, and every widget on the dashboard gets a remove cross in its header.
Edit mode: (1) Save, (2) Cancel, (3) the widget picker and its add button, and (4) the remove cross that now appears on every widget.
Step 2 – Add a widget
- Select a widget from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm the selection with the add button next to the dropdown to place it on the dashboard.
If the widget is already placed on the dashboard, the existing widget is highlighted instead of a second copy being added.
(1) the picker, (2) a freshly added Stock consumption graph, and (3) a News feed widget with no feed source configured – it reports URI hasn’t been defined yet! instead of news.
Step 3 – Rearrange and resize
- Drag a widget by its header to move it.
- Drag a widget’s edges to change its size.
Step 4 – Remove a widget
Click the cross in the header of the widget you want to remove. The widget disappears from the dashboard immediately, but nothing is final until you save.
Step 5 – Save or discard
Click Save to keep your layout and exit edit mode, or Cancel to discard every change made since you entered edit mode.
Success: The dashboard shows your widgets in your arrangement, the toolbar is back to Customize, and the layout is waiting for you at your next login.
Pin a report as a custom widget
Besides the default widgets, every report can also be shown on the dashboard as a custom widget.
- Open the report in the report viewer and check that it returns the rows you expect.
- Click Pin to dashboard in the report toolbar.
(1) Pin to dashboard in the toolbar of an open report. Run the report first – what you pin is this result, so a report that returns rows gives you a widget worth looking at.
Custom widgets are rearranged and resized in the same way as default widgets. A custom widget based on a report also gives direct access to the report behind it – use the button in the widget’s title bar to open its source report.
Available widgets
| Widget | What it shows |

| Stock consumption | Graph of consumption per stock, by month. |
| Late purchase orders | All purchase orders in active state which contain one or more items with a passed expected delivery date (current date > expected delivery date). |
| Device status | All devices with their current status. See the status table below. |
| Stock level | List of all stocks with information about the quantity of items currently located in stock locations. Picked items and items sent to service are not taken into account. |
| Stock value evolution | Stock value of each stock for the actual month and the last 5 months. Stock value is calculated as the quantity of each item currently located in a stock location multiplied by each item’s standard cost. |
| Category consumption last 30 days | Graph of consumption (based on price per pick) per category for the last 30 days. |
| Vendor consumption last 30 days | Graph of consumption (based on price per pick) per vendor for the last 30 days. |
| Device consumption last 30 days | Graph of consumption (based on price per pick) per device for the last 30 days. |
| News feed | The feed specified in System settings. Turn the news feed on there and specify the feed source; without a source, the widget reports that no URI has been defined. |
| Items at critical level | Number of items at or below critical state in all devices. Click the item count to show a list of all items and their assignments to devices where the item is at or below critical level. See Understanding item stock states. |
| Items out of stock | All items assigned to a stock location which are in released or phase out state and have zero quantity in stock. Picked durable items are considered as in stock; items waiting for service are not. |
Device statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | Device is online and synchronized correctly in the set sync period. |
| Offline | Device is currently not connected to the Admin Portal; synchronization and lock cannot be performed. |
| Not synchronized | Device has not been attached to any Shop Floor Interface yet. |
| Locked | Device is locked and not accessible from the Shop Floor Interface. |
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |

| Widgets cannot be dragged | The browser window is too narrow, so the dashboard has collapsed to a single column | Widen the browser window, then enter edit mode again |
| There is no remove cross on a widget | You are not in edit mode | Click Customize first – the crosses only appear in edit mode |
| Selecting a widget adds nothing, and an existing widget lights up instead | That widget is already on the dashboard | Each widget can be placed once; remove the existing one first if you want it somewhere else |
