What you can do
Clean and sanitise the AutoCrib TX750 touchscreen without damaging it: how often to do it, which products work, and which ones ruin the screen.
Before you start
- Have a lint-free cloth or paper towel ready. Never spray a cleaner straight onto the touchscreen.
- Check the product you plan to use against the list of products to avoid below.
How often to clean
- High-usage conditions – apply one of the recommended products once per day, where staff may not wear gloves or wash their hands frequently.
- Low-usage conditions – weekly sanitising is enough, or where staff wear gloves to do their work.
Steps
Step 1 — Choose the cleaner
| Product | How to use it |
| Pre-moistened wipes | Preferred. Clean the exterior surfaces with a wipe or a prediluted product. |
| Liquid cleaners | Spray or apply the cleaner onto a lint-free cloth or paper towel first, so no liquid or debris collects under the bezel. |
Warning: Never spray a cleaner directly onto the touchscreen. Liquid under the bezel damages the screen.
Step 2 — Wipe the screen
Wipe on enough cleaner to leave the touchscreen wet for at least 60 seconds.
Success: The screen stays wet for a full minute, then dries clean with no streaks or residue under the bezel.
Do not use these products
The products below are highly caustic or abrasive to touchscreen surfaces. Using them can damage the touchscreen permanently.
Products that damage the touchscreen.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
| The screen is streaky after cleaning. | The cloth was not lint-free, or the cleaner dried too fast. | Use a lint-free cloth and enough cleaner to keep the surface wet for 60 seconds. |
| Touch response is erratic after cleaning. | Liquid has collected under the bezel. | Let the unit dry completely, and apply the cleaner to the cloth rather than the screen next time. |
| The surface looks hazy or scratched. | A caustic or abrasive product was used. | Stop using that product. Permanent damage cannot be reversed – contact support about a replacement. |
