What you’ll learn
What the Tools United interface downloads into CRIBWISE, which catalogs it reaches, and exactly how each Tools United field is mapped onto a CRIBWISE item.
The two catalogs
| Catalog | Authentication | Scope |
| Standard catalogs | None needed | Walter, Seco, and Coromant’s own items |
| Tools United catalog | A Tools United account | The full Tools United catalog |
Important: Downloading data requires a valid Tools United user with a valid subscription. That user is not provided by CRIBWISE – see How to activate a ToolsUnited voucher.
With a valid user name and password you can search the Tools United catalog and download selected items. Items are downloaded together with their spare parts, where these are defined, in the Defined (imported) state.
How Tools United data maps onto a CRIBWISE item
| CRIBWISE item | Tools United item model |
| Item ID | Your own item ID, specified during import – or Model → ArticelNumber for imported spare parts. |
| Item name | Model → ArticleNumber |
| Item description | Each Model → Name → Value is stored as a translated description, in the culture code mapped from Model → Name → LNG. The ENG translation becomes the default description if available; otherwise the first available translation does. A single translation is stored as the default description with no culture code. |
| Item status | Defined |
| Purchase package quantity | Model → PackageQuantity |
| GTC classification | Model → GTC |
| Item type | Mapped from the GTC class. Consumable where no class is available. |
| Vendor | From the import setting: defined by you, empty, or taken from the manufacturer – the Tools United manufacturer name for Model → Brand. A manufacturer that does not exist in CRIBWISE is created. |
| Vendor order code | Model → OrderID |
| Vendor barcode | Model → Barcode |
| Manufacturer | The Tools United manufacturer name for Model → Brand. Created in CRIBWISE if it does not exist. |
| Manufacturer ID | Model → ArticleNumber |
| Item barcode | Not mapped |
| Internal document, type Image file | Model → Image, fetched as an image |
| Internal document, type Image name | Image |
| Internal document, type Other file | Each member of Model → ImageDict, fetched as a file |
| Internal document, type Other name | The key of each member of Model → ImageDict |
| External document name | Product link |
| External document URL | Model → URL |
| CatalogItem → StringCharacteristic → Name | The ISO value of each member of Model → Properties |
| CatalogItem → StringCharacteristic → Value | The Value of each member of Model → Properties |
| Spare parts | Model → Accessories. Existence is checked per ArticleNumber, and the spare part is imported using its ID. |
| Spare part quantity | Model → Accessories → Quantity |
| Spare part position | Not mapped |
Common confusion
| People often think… | But actually… |
| CRIBWISE provides the Tools United login. | You need your own Tools United user with a valid subscription. |
| Imported items are ready to use. | They arrive in the Defined (imported) state and must be released first. |
| Every field comes across. | Item barcode and spare part position are not mapped. |
| The Walter catalog needs an account. | It needs no authentication, but is limited to Walter Tools items. |
