View all stock locations on a device, check how many items are assigned to each, see their status, and filter locations by zone — directly from the Shop Floor Interface.
Before you start
- You need a user account with the Manage locations permission enabled in your user group.
- You need access to the Shop Floor Interface on a device connected to your storage.
Quick start
Experienced users — view and filter locations in 3 steps:
- *Tap Stock management → Manage locations**.
- *Review** the location list (name, items, status, recycle flag).
- *Tap** Filter locations to narrow the list by zone.

Steps
Step 1 — Open the location management screen
- On the SFI main menu, tap Stock management.
- Tap Manage locations.
The screen shows all stock locations on the current device. Each row displays the location name, the number of items assigned, the location status, and whether it handles recycling.
Step 2 — Understand the location list
Each location row shows the following information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Location name | The location address (e.g., A-01-01-01). The format is Zone-Shelf-Row-Position. |
| Items assigned | The number of different items assigned to this location. |
| Status | The location status — typically Active (green). |
| Handle recycle | A checkbox indicating whether this location accepts returned items for recycling. |
Tip: Use the search bar at the top to find a specific location by name.
Step 3 — Filter locations by zone
- Tap the Filter locations button at the bottom-right of the screen.
- The filter wizard shows available zones on the device (e.g., A and B).
- Tap a zone to see only locations in that zone, or tap Select all to show all zones.
- The list updates to show only locations in the selected zone.
Note: Tap Cancel to return to the full location list without applying a filter.
Step 4 — Toggle recycle handling (optional)
- Tap the Handle recycle checkbox on a location row to enable or disable recycling for that location.
- When enabled (checked), returned items marked for recycling are routed to this location.
Success: The location list updates in real time. You can see at a glance which locations have items, which are empty, and which handle recycling.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Manage locations tile is missing from the menu | Your user group does not have the required permission | Ask your administrator to enable the Manage locations permission |
| No locations appear | The device has no stock locations configured | Contact your administrator to set up locations in Admin Portal |
| Location shows 0 items assigned | No items have been assigned to that location yet | Use Assign item to add items to the location |
