Service scripts

Purpose of service scripts is to check if there is sufficient amount of items which must be send to external service vendor. For service scripts only one rule is available – set quantity of items needing the service. If this rule is fulfilled (i.e. there are more items in monitored device(s) than selected threshold), these items are put to service order.

Items with internal service vendor are added to service lists automatically when service is requested for them and they are not affected by this rule

To obtain items needing service, system check all locations with location rule For service and serialized items with status For service, which can happen by one of following operations:

  • Item is on location with location rule For service (when it has been returned for service, restocked without order in condition for service or added to location with rule For service by assign or inventory operation)
  • Serialized item has automatic service set and service threshold is reached (read more about how to setup automatic service)

If item has its own setting for minimum quantity for service (specified in item’s supplier information) and this minimum quantity is not met in all locations checked by a script, this item will be ignored by the script (will not be added to any service order or service list and will not increase total number of items needing service for the script’s rule).
