Pick lists

Predefined pick lists serve to prepare list of items and quantities, which user can pick against. When using cost allocation, specific cost allocation can be set for each pick list with no option to change by user. Based on pick list settings, pick list can be closed when all required items are picked or it can stay in the system with quantities fixed to allow pick required items multiple times. Pick list can be restricted to be accessible only by specific user or user group or on a specific device or can be set to be available only till specific date.

When pick lists are accessed on Shop Floor Interface (SFI), information is downloaded (is accessible) directly from Admin Portal (AP). Also any pick operations made on pick lists on SFI are directly uploaded to AP. Based on this, single pick list can be processed on multiple devices without need of synchronization. If SFI is not directly connected to AP, pick lists and operations performed on them are synchronized as other entities during regular synchronization period.

Operations made on pick lists can be monitored in raw transactions reporting data source with pick list reference (by pick list name).

Complete pick list functionality can be turned on in system setting (see Stock daily use). Users and user groups can be restricted to pick from predefined pick lists or be forced by pick only by predefined pick lists, allowing to set only specific quantity allowed to be picked.

Each pick list can be assigned to predefined cost allocation within specific cost allocation set (one pick list could be assigned only to one CA set). This selection is fixed in a pick list. When cost allocation structure or values are changed resulting definition in pick list is not valid or correct anymore, this pick list become invalid and will not be available on SFI for users.

Pick lists can be managed (viewed, created, updated, deleted) only by ERP interface or by Excel import/export. See integration documentation for more details about APIs available for pick lists.

Following parameters are available for each pick list:

Parameter name Functionality
Id Unique ID of pick list
Name Name of a pick list visible in SFI and reporting
Cost allocation set ID of related CA set. All CA values and steps specified further must be valid within this set.

For pick lists without predefined CA, do not specify this ID to force user select CA during picking flow.

Cost allocations Set of CA values for each CA step. When defined, these CA values are always set during picking of items according this pick list (any CA restrictions are still applied during the flow, which can result in pick list or contained items not accessible for user).

When not specified, user will be forced to select cost allocation values during picking flow.

Items List of items and required quantities for a pick list
Users List of users for which this pick list will be available.
If empty, pick list will be visible for all users (if restriction per user group is not set).
User groups List of user groups for which this pick list will be available.
If empty, pick list will be visible for all user groups (if restriction per user is not set).
Allow change quantity If allowed, user can increase or decrease quantity for pick for items defined in pick list. User can pick more than it is defined by a pick list.

If not allowed, user will be forced to pick quantity required by the pick list. If there is not enough quantity for pick in a device, user will be forced to pick maximum of available.

Fixed quantities If set, requested quantities for items in pick list remains the same even after user pick items according this list. Such list remains in the system until is manually updated or deleted.

If not set, each pick according a pick list will decrease required quantity for an item. Once required quantity of all items will reach 0, pick list will be set to closed state and will not be available on SFI anymore.

Allow pick more than requested If set and pick list setting Allow change quantity is also set, it is possible to pick more units of an item than it is required by the pick list.

If not set (or Allow change quantities is not set), user cannot pick more units of an item than the pick list requires.

In both cases, picking all items required by a pick list while the pick list does not have fixed quantities will still result in the pick list becomes closed and not available on SFI anymore.

Target date Target date for the pick list to be ready or processed.

Date has only informational character. It is displayed on a list of available pick lists on SFI.

Active till date Pick list will be available only until this date is reached (including this date). After this date, pick list will be set to inactive state and will not be shown on SFI.

Changing this date to a future will make the pick list available again.

Pick lists which has been closed are not affected by this date (they remain with status closed after this date passes).

Device ID Target device for the pick list. When specified, this pick list will be available only on that device.
If left empty, pick list will be available on all devices.
Status Active – pick list is available in the system
Closed – required quantities for all items has been picked, pick list is not available in system anymore
Invalid – CA settings are not valid anymore according current settings in system. Pick list is not available in system anymore
